Updated over a month ago

Prerequisites

Before starting the SSO setup, you'll need to:

  • Determine whether you're using a custom domain or the default 7taps domain

  • Gather the required information from your Identity Provider (IdP)

Required Information from Your Organization

To set up SSO, you'll need to provide one of the following:

  1. Individual SAML configuration details:

    • Endpoint / SAML URL

    • Issuer / Entity ID

    • Certificate

OR

  1. XML file containing SAML metadata

Configuration Values

For Organizations Without Custom Domain Configured

Use these URLs in your IdP configuration:

CopyEntity ID / Issuer / Audience:
https://app.7taps.com/saml/7taps-eid

ASC URL / Consumer URL / SAML URL:
https://app.7taps.com/saml/consume

For Organizations With Custom Domain

Replace microlearning.mydomain.com with your actual custom domain:

CopyEntity ID / Issuer / Audience: https://microlearning.mydomain.com/saml/7taps-eid

ASC URL / Consumer URL / SAML URL: https://microlearning.mydomain.com/saml/consume

Setup Process

  1. Gather Information

    • Collect all required SAML configuration details from your IdP

  2. Contact 7taps Support

    • Submit your SAML configuration details or metadata XML file

    • Specify whether you're using a custom domain

  3. Testing

    • Once configured, perform a test login with a sample user account

    • Verify that users with approved email domains can access your courses

    • Check that SSO authentication works as expected

Best Practices

  • Keep your IdP certificate up to date

  • Maintain documentation of your SSO configuration for reference

  • Set up a test user account specifically for verifying SSO functionality

Troubleshooting

If users experience issues with SSO login:

  1. Verify that their email domain is in the approved list

  2. Confirm that all SAML configuration values match between 7taps and your IdP

  3. Check that your IdP certificate hasn't expired

  4. Contact 7taps support if issues persist
