Learning Path Foundation
Two Ways to Start Your Learning Path
Method 1: Create from Dashboard (Traditional approach)
From your 7taps dashboard, click "Learning Paths" in the left sidebar
Click "Create Learning Path" to start building
Give your Learning Path a descriptive name that reflects its business purpose
Method 2: Create from Course Folder (Streamlined approach)
Navigate to a folder containing related courses in your dashboard
Make sure the courses are ordered in the way you them delivered
Click "Schedule Learning Path" button from the folder view
This automatically creates a Learning Path with all courses from that folder
You'll then be prompted to choose your delivery method and other settings
Naming best practices:
β "New Manager Coaching Skills - Q4 2024"
β "Sales Objection Handling Mastery"
β "Safety Protocol Reinforcement - Manufacturing"
β "Learning Path 1" or "Training Module"
Step 1: Choose Your Delivery Channel
Learning Paths can be delivered through multiple channels. Choose based on where your learners are most active:
π§ Email
Best for: Cross-organizational initiatives, external learners, mixed audiences
Pros: Universal access, professional appearance, easy tracking
Cons: May get lost in inbox, lower engagement rates
π¬ Slack
Best for: Tech-forward teams, daily active Slack users, informal learning culture
Pros: High visibility, immediate notifications, social learning opportunities
Cons: Requires Slack integration setup (Enterprise only)
π· Microsoft Teams
Best for: Enterprise environments, formal learning initiatives, Microsoft-centric organizations
Pros: Professional integration, corporate compliance, scheduled delivery
Cons: Requires MS Teams integration, service account recommended (Enterprise only)
π± SMS / WhatsApp
Best for: Frontline workers, mobile-first audiences, urgent reinforcement
Pros: Immediate delivery, high open rates, no app dependencies
Cons: Character limitations, less professional appearance
Step 2: Select Delivery Mode
This is a critical strategic decision that affects learning outcomes:
ποΈ Scheduled Delivery (Recommended for most scenarios) Courses deliver based on your defined schedule, regardless of completion status.
When to use:
Supplementary skill development
Knowledge reinforcement campaigns
Regular updates and newsletters
Cultural transformation initiatives
Benefits:
Consistent pacing for all learners
Activity log tracking available
Predictable delivery timeline
Works well for busy learners
βοΈ Upon Completion Delivery Each course sends only after the learner completes the previous one.
When to use:
Foundational skill building requiring mastery
Compliance training with mandatory progression
Technical skills where prerequisites matter
High-stakes knowledge building
Benefits:
Ensures comprehension before progression
Self-paced learning experience
Quality over speed approach
Important considerations:
Activity log not available with this mode
Learners who don't complete courses will stall the entire path
Minimum 1-day interval still applies between courses
Building Your Curriculum
Step 3: Add Courses to Your Learning Path (Method 1 Only)
Note: If you used Method 2 (Create from Course Folder), your courses are already added and you can skip to Step 4 for sequencing and intervals.
For Method 1 (Create from Dashboard):
Use the search bar to find courses in your workspace
All courses appear - including drafts and unshared courses
Drag and drop to arrange courses in optimal learning sequence
Set intervals between each course delivery
Pro tip: When you launch a Learning Path containing draft courses, those courses automatically become shared - no separate sharing step needed!
Step 4: Strategic Course Sequencing
Foundation β Application β Mastery Pattern:
Course 1: Core concept introduction
Course 2: Real-world application practice
Course 3: Advanced techniques or problem-solving
Course 4: Reflection and next steps
Example: New Manager Development
Week 1: "The Manager Mindset Shift" (foundation)
Week 2: "Your First Team Meeting" (immediate application)
Week 3: "Giving Constructive Feedback" (skill building)
Week 4: "Creating Your Management Action Plan" (mastery)
Step 5: Set Optimal Intervals
Interval Guidelines Based on Learning Science:
1-2 Day Intervals:
Critical safety procedures
Urgent skill development
High-stakes compliance
Crisis response training
3-5 Day Intervals:
General skill building
Process improvements
Product knowledge
Customer service training
7+ Day Intervals:
Leadership development
Cultural transformation
Complex behavior change
Long-term retention goals
Weekdays vs. All Days:
Weekdays only: Professional development, office-based training, formal initiatives
All days: Safety reminders, customer service, 24/7 operations, personal development
Step 6: Customize Sharing Messages (Enterprise Feature)
For each course in your Learning Path, you can create custom sharing messages that provide context and motivation:
Effective sharing message elements:
Why now: "As we head into busy season..."
What's in it: "Quick 3-minute scenario on handling price objections"
Expected outcome: "You'll practice one new technique you can use today"
Social proof: "Join 200+ reps who've already mastered this approach"
Example progression:
Course 1: "Welcome to your coaching skills journey! This first lesson sets the foundation..."
Course 2: "Ready to practice? Today's lesson lets you try real coaching conversations..."
Course 3: "You're building momentum! This advanced technique will elevate your impact..."
