Set up a custom email domain

Share your 7taps content via your email domain

7taps Microlearning is a learning management system. By default, if you share your 7taps content via email, it is sent out from microlearning@7taps.com.

Now, as part of the 7taps Enterprise plan, you can share your stunning 7taps courses using your email domain 🥳

For instance: you own a domain www.yoursite.com.

You can now replace the 7taps domain in the emails sent to your learners through 7taps via any email on your domain, like training@yoursite.com.

You can set up only one custom domain per Team workplace for all your 7taps content.

Custom email domain requirements

Spoiler alert: You'll need a hand from your IT Team.

To set up a custom email domain for your 7taps content, you will need the following:

  • A domain purchased and registered with a domain host.

  • Access to your DNS provider settings.

  • An active email hosted on your domain, that you want to use for email sharing of your 7taps content - e.g. training@yoursite.com.

  • 7taps Enterprise Subscription.

❗️If you do not have a custom domain, you cannot register or create one via 7taps.

How it works

Once you connect your email domain, it will become the default email for sharing your content via 7taps. This applies to all your 7taps content, including courses, folders, and learning paths.

If you have a Team workspace in 7taps, the name of the email sender will be the name of your Team, for example, Learning & Development.

If you have an individual Enterprise license, the emails will be sent from your name, for example, John Clark.


Connect your custom domain in 2 steps

1. Send your custom email address to us

Let us know the active email address hosted on your domain, that you want to use for email sharing in 7taps - e.g. training@yoursite.com

2. Add provided DNS records on your end

We will email you back the info of the following type for updating your DNS settings:

Type: cname 
Host: xxxxxx.xxxxxxxxxx.xxx
Data: uxxxxxxxxx.xxxxx.xxxxxxxx.xxx

Type: cname
Host: xx.xxxxxxxxxx.xxxxxxxxxx.xxx
Data: xx.domainkey.xxxxxxxxxx.xxxxx.xxxxxxxx.xxx

Type: cname
Host: xx.xxxxxxxxxx.xxxxxxxxxx.xxx
Data: xx.domainkey.xxxxxxxxxx.xxxxx.xxxxxxxx.xxx

You'll need a colleague who can access the DNS provider settings on your end to make the changes. While the settings are being updated, all content shared through 7taps will be sent from the default 7taps address - microlearning@7taps.com.

That's it!

You'll be able to start using your email domain in 7taps within a couple of hours 🤗
