Testing After Allow-List Update

  1. Open any 7taps course

  2. Try adding an image from Unsplash

  3. Try adding a GIF from Giphy

  4. Upload a custom image and verify it displays

  5. Create a Synthesia video card (if applicable)

If any step fails, the corresponding domain may still be blocked.


Common Questions

Q: Can I add only some domains?

A: Yes, but functionality will be limited:

Minimum required:

  • cdn.7taps.com

  • cdn1.7taps.com

Without media library domains (Unsplash, Giphy, Shutterstock), creators can upload their own images but can't use built-in search. Without Synthesia domains, AI video won't work.

Q: Why wildcard domains like *.unsplash.com?

A: Media services use multiple subdomains (images1.unsplash.com, images2.unsplash.com, etc.). The wildcard (*) ensures all variations work without constant IT updates.

Q: We don't use Synthesia Video Cards. Do we need those domains?

A: No. Skip the three Synthesia domains if you don't use AI video generation.

Q: What if IT won't allow Amazon S3 domains?

A: These are specific S3 bucket endpoints for 7taps content only - not blanket AWS access. Share this with your IT team:

  • Specific bucket paths, not general S3 access

  • Read-only access for content delivery

  • No write permissions granted

Q: Images are missing but courses load. What's blocked?

A: Check in order:

  1. Custom uploaded images missing → 7taps-public-file-storage.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com

  2. Stock photos won't load → *.unsplash.com or *.shutterstock.com

  3. GIFs won't display → *.giphy.com

  1. Clear browser cache and reload

  2. Try a different browser

  3. Test on mobile data to confirm it's network-related

  4. Verify with IT that changes were applied
